Potato futures remain higher as demand picks up, tight supply
Potato remained higher for the third straight session and prices shot up by 2.10 per cent to Rs 1,181 per quintal in futures trading today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in far-month April shot up by Rs 24.30, or 2.10 per cent to Rs 1181 per quintal in business turnover of 240 lots.
Potato for delivery in March also traded higher by Rs 18, or 1.63 per cent to Rs 1123.80 per quintal in 386 lots.
Analysts said pick-up in demand in the spot market against tight supplies due to restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly pushed up potato prices at futures trade.
