NEW DELHI: Potato prices recovered by 0.49 per cent to Rs 1,181 per quintal in futures trading today due to pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in April rebounded by Rs 5.80, or 0.49 per cent to Rs 1181 per quintal in business turnover of 57 lots. The potato for delivery in March also edged up by 80 paise, or 0.07 per cent to Rs 1163.90 per quintal in 37 lots.

Analysts said besides pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in potato prices at futures trade.
