NEW DELHI: Potato futures prices today moved down by 1.33 per cent to Rs 78O.90 per quintal as speculators reduced positions on higher arrivals from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato prices for delivery in March fell by Rs 10.50, or 1.33 per cent, to Rs 780.90 per quintal, with a business volume of 169 lots.

Likewise, the potato delivery contract for April shed Rs 5.80, or 0.76 per cent, to Rs 757 per quintal in 87 lots.

Market analysts said increased arrivals from producing regions, sluggish demand in the spot market, mainly kept pressure on the potato futures.
