NEW DELHI: Potato prices rose further by 0.76 per cent to Rs 1,308 per quintal in futures trading today following rising demand, driven by ongoing "Navratras" festival.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in May gained Rs 9.90, or 0.76 per cent, to Rs 1,308 per quintal in business turnover of 119 lots.

Likewise, potato for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 8.10, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 1253.30 per quintal in 41 lots.

Analysts said persistent rise in potato futures was mostly due to increased demand in the spot markets on the back of ongoing auspicious "Navratras" festival.
