Pistachio up on buying support

NEW DELHI: Pistachio prices rose by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today largely on fresh buying by retailers and stockists amid paucity of stocks.

Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in the prices.

Pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 770-870 and Rs 1,020-1,050 per kg.

Market analysts said increased buying by retailers and stockists, amid fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices in the dry fruit market here.

The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 14,500 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,000-7,600; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,200-3,800; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 495-530 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 350-450 per kg.
