NEW DELHI: Pistachio prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists due to ongoing festival season amid low stocks following fall in supplies from overseas markets.

Pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 1,360-1,460 and Rs 1,510-1,560 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said fresh buying by retailers and stockists, driven by ongoing festival season against fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices at the dry fruit market here.

Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 19,700, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,000-8,400; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,800-5,000; Abjosh Afghani Rs 18,000-23,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 690-700 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-650 per kg.
