Pepper futures fall on weak overseas demand

Pepper futures prices today fell by Rs 250 to Rs 38,575 per quintal due to subdued overseas demand at prevailing higher levels.

NEW DELHI: Pepper futures prices today fell by Rs 250 to Rs 38,575 per quintal due to subdued overseas demand at prevailing higher levels.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for delivery in July fell by Rs 250, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 38,575 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,985 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in June lost Rs 230, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 38,550 per quintal in 2,693 lots.

Analysts said subdued overseas demand at prevailing higher levels mainly kept pressure on pepper prices at futures trade.
