Non-basmati rice prices up on demand from retailers

Marketmen said pick-up in retailers demand in view of ongoing 'Navratras' festival mainly led to rise in non-basmati prices.

NEW DELHI: Non-basmati rice prices firmed by Rs 50 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on the back of pick-up in retailers demand due to ongoing ' Navratras' festival.

Marketmen said pick-up in retailers demand in view of ongoing 'Navratras' festival mainly led to rise in non-basmati prices.

In the national capital, non-basmati rice permal raw and wand were up by Rs 25 each to Rs 2,300-2,550 and Rs 2,500-2,600, while IR-8 gained Rs 50 to Rs 1,900-1,950 per quintal, respectively.
