NMCE unveils 11 new futures contracts in agri, gold

The National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE) on Friday launched 11 new futures contracts in agricultural commodities and gold for January, February and April 2010 delivery.

NEW DELHI: The National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE) on Friday launched 11 new futures contracts in agricultural commodities and gold for January, February and April 2010 delivery.

"The 11 new futures contracts will be available for trading with effect from October 16," the exchange circular said.

The futures contract in gold, cardamom, copra and guargum will expire in January 2010 delivery, it said.

The three contracts, rape mustard seed, rubber and sack, will close in February next year, while the rest four contracts - castor seed, isabgulseed, pepper and one kilo gold contracts - will expire in March 2010, it added.

According to the official data, NMCE clocked a business of Rs 10,565 crore in the first fortnight of September.
