NMCE opens new series in turmeric, soya oil & guar seed

The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) has introduced new series in turmeric, soya oil, guar seed and chana desi for futures contracts with effect from Saturday.

AHMEDABAD: The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) has introduced new series in turmeric, soya oil, guar seed and chana desi for futures contracts with effect from Saturday.

The new series in turmeric, soya oil and guar seed would expire on March 20, 2008, while the delivery period would begin three days prior to that from March 18.

In case of chana desi, the new series would expire on May 20, 2008, while the delivery period would begin on May 17, 2008, the release said.

The basis delivery centre for turmeric would be CWC warehouse at Erode in Tamil Nadu, and the additional delivery centre would be at CWC Nizamabad in Andhra Pradesh, it added.

The delivery centre for soya oil would be Indore in Madhya Pradesh, while that for guar seed would be at Jodhpur (basis centre), Bikaner, Nokha in Rajasthan and Deesa in Gujarat with freight discount through CWC Receipt.

However, the delivery centre for chana desi is CWC warehouse in Delhi, NMCE said.

Currently, NMCE also runs futures contracts in pepper, raw jute, cardamom, rubber, menthol crystal, metals, oilseeds and their derivatives.
