NMCE launches 3 new series for futures contract

The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) has launched new series for futures contract in turmeric, soy oil and guar seed with effect from Monday, February 11.

AHMEDABAD :The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) has launched new series for futures contract in turmeric, soy oil and guar seed with effect from Monday, February 11. The three new series, called June 2008 contracts in respective commodities will expire on June 20, 2008, while the delivery period for each will begin three days prior to that on June 17 says a NMCE release.

The basis delivery centre for turmeric is Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) warehouse at Erode in Tamil Nadu, and the other centre is at CWC Nizamabad in Andhra Pradesh.

The delivery centre for soy oil is Indore in Madhya Pradesh and that for guar seed are at Jodhpur (basis centre), Bikaner, Nokha in Rajasthan and at Deesa in Gujarat with freight discount through CWC Warehouse Receipt (WR).

At present NMCE runs futures contracts in 104 series in 27 commodities, notably rubber, pepper, cardamom, raw jute, sacking, menthol crystal, metals, castor seed, other oilseeds and their derivatives.
