Nickel, tin prices rise on fresh buying

Nickel and tin prices recovered in the range of Rs 2 to Rs 5 a kg in the non-ferrous metal market on Tuesday on revival of buying interest at lower levels.

NEW DELHI: Nickel and tin prices recovered in the range of Rs 2 to Rs 5 a kg in the non-ferrous metal market here on Tuesday on revival of buying interest at lower levels.

Marketmen said pick up in buying interest at lower levels, caused the marginal rise in nickel and tin prices.

Nickel plate (4x4), (9x9) and (4x24) all moved up by Rs 5 each to close at Rs 1,355-1,515, Rs 1,385-1,505 and Rs 1,385-1,515 a kg respectively.

Tin ingot too edged up by Rs 2 to settle at Rs 802 a kg on poor buying.

Meanwhile, other base metal prices moved in a tight range on little bouts of buying and selling.

Turning to Overseas market, tin and nickel prices moved up by 50 and 100 dollars each at 16200 and 28200 a metric tonne, this also influenced the market sentiments here.
