Wheat output likely to hit 100 million tonnes this year

Wheat production could achieve the long cherished target of 100 million tonnes this year, according to Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research (IIWBR)

Reasons for expected rise:
1. Conducive climatic conditions throughout the season

2. Sufficient availability of water
3. Relatively negligible pest attacks
