Soybean futures slip on muted demand

Soybean contracts for January delivery fell Rs 39, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 4,378 per quintal with an open interest of 2,00,110 lots.

Soybean for February delivery went down by Rs 45, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 4,383 per quintal with an open interest of 65,495 lots.
Soybean prices on Thursday fell by Rs 39 to Rs 4,378 per quintal in futures market as participants cut down their positions on weak spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean contracts for January delivery fell Rs 39, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 4,378 per quintal with an open interest of 2,00,110 lots.

Soybean for February delivery went down by Rs 45, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 4,383 per quintal with an open interest of 65,495 lots.


The fall in soybean prices in futures trade was mostly due to reduction of exposure by participants, marketmen said.
