Soybean futures rise on fresh bets

Soybean for February delivery gained Rs 51, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 4,683 per quintal with an open interest of 78,955 lots.

Soybean for March delivery traded higher by Rs 49, or 1.06 per cent, to Rs 4,689 per quintal with an open interest of 1,80,415 lots.
Soybean prices on Friday rose by Rs 51 to Rs 4,683 per quintal in futures market as traders created fresh positions tracking positive spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean for February delivery gained Rs 51, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 4,683 per quintal with an open interest of 78,955 lots.

Likewise, soybean for March delivery traded higher by Rs 49, or 1.06 per cent, to Rs 4,689 per quintal with an open interest of 1,80,415 lots.


Marketmen said raising of fresh positions by speculators on the back of higher demand mainly led to the rise in soybean prices.
