Silver futures up on spot demand

NEW DELHI: Silver prices rose Rs 848 to Rs 69,632 per kg in futures trade on Monday as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for the May delivery gained Rs 848, or 1.23 per cent, to Rs 69,632 per kg in 12,137 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mostly due to fresh positions built by participants on a positive domestic trend.


Globally, silver was trading 2.27 per cent higher at USD 27.04 per ounce in New York.
