Silver futures rise on spot demand

On Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for May delivery gained by Rs 230, or 0.34%, to Rs 67,074 per kg.

NEW DELHI: Silver prices rose by Rs 230 to Rs 67,074 per kg in futures trade on Monday as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for May delivery gained Rs 230, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 67,074 per kg in 12,155 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mostly due to fresh positions built by participants on a positive domestic trend.


Globally, silver was trading 0.40 per cent higher at USD 26.02 per ounce in New York.
