NEW DELHI: Continuing its upward trend for the third straight day, refined soya oil prices traded higher by 0.84 per cent to Rs 668.50 per 10 kg in futures trading today as participants engaged in enlarging their positions, taking positive cues from spot market on rising demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in October gained Rs 5.55, or 0.84 per cent, to Rs 668.50 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 65,250 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in September edged up by Rs 1.65, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 651.90 per 10 kg in 3,890 lots.

Analysts said widening of positions by traders, tracking a firming trend at spot market on strong demand against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing belts mainly kept refined soya oil prices higher at futures trade.
