NEW DELHI: Mentha oil price declined in the futures market on Tuesday as speculators avoided fresh positions following low demand in the spot market.

At around 11:15 am, the MCX Mentha oil was trading at Rs 1,655, lower by Rs 13.40 or 0.80 per cent.

Slower demand from the consuming industries in the spot market put pressure on mentha oil price. Brokerage Geojit Financial Services expects a volatile trading session for the commodity today.

In the domestic futures market, gold, silver and crude oil were trading mixed.

"MCX Gold remains bearish as long as Rs 30,900 is capped as resistance. It has immediate resistances at Rs 30,590-30,690, whereas supports are placed at Rs 30,400-30,340," Motilal Oswal Securities said in a report.
