Mentha oil futures prices inch up on pick up in spot demand

Speculators raised their bets, driven by an uptick in demand from consuming industries at the spot market.

Market participants said prices are seeing some short covering as there is an improvement in demand at lower levels and buyers are coming to take positions at cheaper prices.
NEW DELHI: Mentha oil traded with mild gains in the futures market on Monday, taking support from demand at the spot market.

Speculators raised their bets, driven by an uptick in demand from consuming industries at the spot market against limited supplies from key producing regions which gave a leg up to mentha oil prices in futures trade.

Around 12:05 pm, MCX Mentha oil was at Rs 1373.50 per kg, up by Rs 6.20, or 0.45 per cent.


Market participants said prices are seeing some short covering as there is an improvement in demand at lower levels and buyers are coming to take positions at cheaper prices.
