Mentha oil futures dip on profit-booking

Mentha oil futures were trading lower in morning trade as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid fall in demand at the spot market.

Besides, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from major producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh fuelled the downtrend.

Mentha oil futures on MCX were trading 0.03 per cent down at 1545.50 per 1 kg at around 11 am (IST). According to SMC Global Securities, mentha oil futures (Aug) may witness a steep correction towards Rs 1480, as soon as it breaks the support near Rs 1520 levels. The sentiments are bearish on the spot markets as the supplies are set to rise due to clear weather conditions.
