Mentha oil falls 1.06% in futures trade on profit-booking

NEW DELHI: Mentha oil prices fell 1.06 per cent, to Rs 938.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March fell by Rs 10.10 or 1.06 per cent to Rs 938.50 per kg with a business volume of 654 lots.

Similarly, mentha oil for current month delivery traded down by Rs 9.50 or 1.01 per cent to Rs 927 per kg with a business turnover of 996 lots.

The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to profit-booking by speculators and weak trend at spot market on subdued demand, marketmen said.
