NEW DELHI: Mentha oil climbed up in the futures trade in Friday's session as speculators raised bets amid a pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the domestic spot market.

Further, tight stocks position on fall in supplies from key producing regions influenced mentha oil prices.

Around 11:25 am, MCX Mentha oil was at Rs 1,705 per kg, up by Rs 12.70, or 0.75 per cent.

The sentiment is bullish as demand from both domestic and export fronts are emerging at existing price levels. Besides, delayed sowing in key producing regions, such as Barabanki, Sambhal and Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh is likely to affect the crop yield.
