ET Bureau
A delay in the delivery of some end-of-day trade files from the clearing corporation of the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) left some traders unable to view their positions and average prices on certain broking platforms on Friday, according to people familiar with the matter.

This prompted traders to take to social media, complaining that they were unable to view or square off positions in commodities traded on the exchange.

Responding to ET's queries, MCX said, "There was a delay in sending the daily trade file for Sept 17, 2026 to some members from the clearing corporation (CCL). These files have since been sent."

The exchange added that all its operations functioned normally on Friday, while trading and settlement activities for Thursday were also normal. Some brokers did not receive the files until late Friday morning, the people said, requesting anonymity.

The files contain trade data from the previous trading session and are made available to members before the start of the next session.
