NEW DELHI: Mentha oil prices climbed in the domestic futures market on Thursday, riding on higher demand coupled with restricted arrival from producing regions.

Around 10:50 am, MCX Mentha oil futures were at Rs 1,511 per kg, up by Rs 17.50, or 1.17 per cent.

Raising of bets by speculators, driven by surging demand from consuming industries at the spot market against limited supplies, drove mentha oil prices higher in futures trade.

Bullion prices moved down in the domestic futures market on a slump in demand at the spot market even as global cues indicated a firming trend in the safe-haven asset.
