Guar gum futures gain on spot demand

Guar gum contracts for February delivery traded higher by Rs 10, 0.16 per cent, to Rs 6,305 per five quintal with an open interest of 44,135 lots.

Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to the rise in guar gum prices.
Guar gum prices on Monday gained Rs 10 to Rs 6,305 per five quintal in futures trade as speculators increased their holdings on spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for February delivery traded higher by Rs 10, 0.16 per cent, to Rs 6,305 per five quintal with an open interest of 44,135 lots.

Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to the rise in guar gum prices.


However, guar gum for delivery in March declined by Rs 5, or 0.08 per cent, at Rs 6,372 per five quintal as open interest stood at 13,655 lots.
