Guar gum futures fall on low demand

Guar gum prices on Thursday fell Rs 11 to Rs 5,720 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend at spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for December delivery fell by Rs 11, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 5,720 per five quintal in 19,890 lots.

Guar gum for January delivery decreased by Rs 5, or 0.09 per cent to Rs 5,792 per five quintal in 37,365 lots.


Marketmen said slackness in demand in the spot market and increased supplies from growing regions put pressure on guar gum prices.
