Guar gum futures fall on low demand

New Delhi: Guar gum prices on Monday fell Rs 142 to Rs 6,356 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend at spot market. On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for November delivery fell by Rs 142, or 2.19 per cent, to Rs 6,356 per five quintal in 9,880 lots.

Guar gum for December delivery decreased by Rs 149, or 2.26 per cent to Rs 6,440 per five quintal in 45,530 lots.

Marketmen said slackness in demand in the spot market and increased supplies from growing regions put pressure on guar gum prices.
