It was the biggest surge in both precious metals in three weeks.

Kolkata : Silver rose ₹15,000 per kg on Monday to ₹2,65,550 per kg while gold gained ₹3,362 to ₹1,58,428 per 10 gm in the spot market, reacting to a weaker dollar following US Supreme Court striking down President Trump's tariffs.

It was the biggest surge in both precious metals in three weeks.

In the international market, gold futures on the Comex advanced $96.61 per troy ounce to $5177 per ounce. Silver futures rose 5.58% to $86.93 per ounce. "Gold prices have risen amid Trump's tariff turmoil and uncertainty surrounding their legality," said Hareesh V at Geojit Investments. "Beyond tariffs, factors such as central bank buying, expectations of lower US interest rates, persistent geopolitical risks and slower global growth could continue to underpin gold in the long run, keeping its overall outlook constructive."
