Gold Rate Today: Gold, silver trade flat in morning trade

NEW DELHI: Precious metals gold and silver were trading flat in the morning deals on Wednesday.

MCX Gold futures were trading 0.02 per cent, or Rs 6 higher at Rs 31,378 per 10 grams at 11:27 am (IST), while MCX Silver futures were up 0.06 per cent, or Rs 25, at Rs 39,611 per 1 kg at the same time.

SPDR Gold Trust GLD, the world's largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, said its holdings stood at 865.89 tonnes, remain unchanged from the previous business day.




Holdings of the largest silver-backed exchange-traded-fund (ETF), New York's iShares Silver Trust SLV, stood at 9856.67 up 49.80 tonnes, from the previous business day.

On the global front, gold prices edged higher as most global stock markets fell and the US dollar eased below an over three-month high hit in the previous session.
