NEW DELHI: Gold prices in futures trade rose on Tuesday amid continued slowdown fears and fall in domestic curreny.

Globally, spot gold prices fell to $1,525.64 per ounce. However, US gold futures were up 0.3 per cent at $1,533.8 an ounce.

Back home, MCX Gold rose by 0.16 per cent to trade at Rs 38,898 per 10 gram.

Silver prices jumped to Rs 47,747 per kg today.

“Gold and silver prices rose in the domestic market as the rupee slipped after GDP data slipped to a six-year low as reported last week. Gold prices are expected to hold the key support of $1,524 and will show strength again towards the $1,542-1,550 mark in international markets,” IndiaNivesh Research said in a note.
