Crude oil futures up on spot demand

West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 1.70 per cent to USD 43.14 per barrel, while Brent crude was trading 1.98 per cent higher at USD 45.85 per barrel in New York.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.
Crude oil prices rose Rs 86 to Rs 3,215 per barrel on Monday as participants widened their positions on firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for December delivery traded higher by Rs 86, or 2.75 per cent, at Rs 3,215 per barrel in 2,564 lots.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 1.70 per cent to USD 43.14 per barrel, while Brent crude was trading 1.98 per cent higher at USD 45.85 per barrel in New York.
