Copper futures rise on pickup in spot demand

On MCX, copper contracts for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 2.75 at Rs 800.25 per kg.

A pickup in spot demand boosted copper prices.

NEW DELHI: Copper prices on Wednesday traded up at Rs 800.25 per kg in the futures market on the back of a pickup in the spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 2.75, or 0.34 per cent, at Rs 800.25 per kg in a business turnover of 4,705 lots.


Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to raising of bets by participants driven by the pickup in spot demand.
