Cardamom, Zinc fall on subdued demand

NEW DELHI: In restricted activity, cardamom brown prices eased by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today as demand eased from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks on increased arrivals from producing regions.

Cardamom brown-Jhundiwali and Kanchicut prices drifted lower by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 990-1,010 and Rs 1,050-1,320 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down cardamom prices.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs):

Ajwain (per kg) 170-230, black pepper (per kg) 720-850, betel-nut (kg) 245-300, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 990-1,010 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,050-1,320.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 890-990, cardamom (colour robin) 790-800, cardamom bold 840-850, cardamom extra (bold) 880-900 and cloves 510-615.

Zinc
Zinc prices declined by Rs 3 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today due to reduced offtake by consuming industries.

Traders attributed the fall in zinc prices to easing demand from consuming industries.

In the national capital, zinc ingot declined by Rs 3 to Rs 100-106 per kg.

Zinc ingot Rs 100-106, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 823-828, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 360, chadri deshi Rs 295.

Lead ingot Rs 85, lead imported Rs 91, aluminium ingots Rs 158, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 154, aluminium wire scrap Rs 154 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 152.
