Six of the nine commodity group sub-Indices and 15 of the 29 individual commodity sub-Indices gained during the week.

The Agriwatch Agri Commodities Index rose 1.16 per cent to 109.42 during the week ended October 28, 2017 from 108.17 during the previous week, led by higher vegetable prices due to damage and supply disruptions caused by untimely and excess rains in India during October.

The base for the Index and all sub-Indices is 2014 (= 100). Six of the nine commodity group sub-Indices and 15 of the 29 individual commodity sub-Indices gained during the week.

The commodity group sub-Index values and their weekly changes are: Cereals: 111.73 (-0.07 per cent), Pulses: 123.76 (+0.33 per cent), Vegetables: 120.33 (+21.41 per cent), Edible Oils: 105.14 (+1.77 per cent), Oilseeds: 89.70 (+0.76 per cent), Spices: 103.64 (+0.12 per cent), Sweeteners: 121.55 (+0.49 per cent), Fibres: 89.94 (-0.98 per cent) and Other Non-Food Articles: 84.00 (-1.08 per cent).
