Moong , gram prices slip on weak demand

Traders said weak demand against sufficient supplies from producing regions mainly pulled down select pulses.

NEW DELHI: The wholesale pulses market ended on a bearish note today as moong and gram prices drifted up to Rs 200 per quintal on weak demand at prevailing higher levels against sufficient supplies from producing belts.

In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local fell by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,000-5400 and Rs 5,500-5,900, while moong dhoya local and best quality were down by the same margin to Rs 5,650-5,750 and Rs 6,350-6,450 per quintal, respectively.

Gram, gramdal local and best quality were also traded lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,200-3,800, Rs 3,850-3,950 and Rs 4,150-4,250 per quintal, respectively.

Urad and its dal chilka local too traded in negative zone with a loss of Rs 100 each to Rs 3,725-3,925 and Rs 4,600-4,950 per quintal, respectively. Urad dal best quality and dhoya shed Rs 100 each at Rs 5,050-5,550 and Rs 5,500-5,700 per quintal, respectively.

The following were today's pulses rates per quintal: Urad 3,725-3,925, Urad Chilka (local) 4,600-4,950, best 5,050-5,550, Dhoya 5,500-5,700, Moong 5,000-5,400, Dal Moong Chilka local 5,500-5,900, Moong Dhoya local 5,650-5,750 and best quality 6,350-6,450.

Masoor small 4,150-4,350, bold 4,300-4,550, Dal Masoor local 4,850-4,950, best quality 4,950-5,050, Malka local 4,600-4,700, best 4,800-4,900, Moth 3,500-4,100, Arhar 4,200-4,600, Dal Arhar Dara 5,900-6,100.

Gram 3,200-3,800, Gram Dal (local) 3,850-3,950, best quality 4,150-4,250, Besan (35 kg) Shakti bhog 1,620, Rajdhani 1,620, Rajmah Chitra 8,250-9,450, Kabli Gram small 3,600-5,600, dabra 2,700-2,800, imported 4,700-5,100; Lobia 3,600-5,000, Peas white 2,650-2,675 and green 2,725-2,825.
