Moong dal, sugar prices move up
Prices of moong dal and sugar moved up, while gram dal edged down and other commodities remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrains market in Chennai on Thursday.

CHENNAI: Prices of moong dal and sugar moved up, while gram dal edged down and other commodities remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrains market here on Thursday.
Moong dal moved up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 4,400, against previous rate of Rs 4,300. Sugar went up further by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 2,000.
Gram dal edged down by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 3,000. Toor dal, urad dal, wheat, maida and sooji were traded at their previous rates.
Following are Thursday's rates per quintal: Toor dal Rs 4,750, urad dal Rs 4,500, moong dal Rs 4,400, gram dal Rs 3,000, sugar Rs 2,000, wheat Rs 1,550, maida (90 kgs) Rs 1,450 and sooji (90 kg) Rs 1,500.
