Moong dal and gram dal moves down

CHENNAI: Prices of moong dal and gram dal declined, while other commodities ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

Both moong dal and gram dal moved down by Rs 50 each per quintal to Rs 3,600 and Rs 2,850 from Rs 3,650 and Rs 2,900 respectively.

Thoor dal, urad dal, sugar, wheat, maida and sooji remained unchagned from their previous rates.

Following are today's rates (per quintal): Thoor dal Rs 4,350, Urad dal Rs 3,850, Moong dal Rs 3,600, Gram dal Rs 2,850, Sugar Rs 1,525, Wheat Rs 1,450, Maida (90 kgs) Rs 1,400 and Sooji (90 kgs) Rs 1,500.
