Mixed trend prevail in market

CHENNAI: The prices of thoor dal,moong dal and gram dal increased, while sugar,maida and sooji declined rest other commodities remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

Thoor dal and moong dal moved up by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 7,100 and Rs 7,600 from its yesterday rates of Rs 7,000 and Rs 7,500, respectively.

Gram dal rose steeply by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 4,200 from Rs 4,000.

Sugar decreased by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 3,100 from its previous rate of Rs 3,150.

Maida (90 kg) and Sooji (90 kg) moved down by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,150 and Rs 2,250 from its yesterday's rate of Rs 2,200 and Rs 2,300, respectively.

Urad dal and Wheat prices ruled steady. The following are the wholesale rates of various agri- commodities today (in rupees per quintal, except where stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 7,100,Urad Dal Rs 5,700, Moong Dal Rs 7,600, Gram Dal Rs 4,200, Sugar Rs 3,100, Wheat Rs 2,200, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,150 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 2,250.
