Mixed trend in metal prices

Prices of nickel, copper cable scrap & brass moved up in an otherwise mixed non-ferrous metal market due to good industrial demand.

MUMBAI: Prices of nickel, copper cable scrap and brass moved up in an otherwise mixed non-ferrous metal market here on Tuesday due to good industrial demand while copper utensils, aluminium and tin eased owing to lack of industrial support.

Nickel moved up by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 1382, copper cable scrap by a rupee per kilo to Rs 339 and brass sheets cutting by a rupee per kilo to Rs 253.

However, copper utensils scrap, aluminium utensils scrap and tin all eased by a rupee per kilo to Rs 313, Rs 103 and Rs 794 respectively.

At New York, the most active March copper contract rose 5.60 cents to settle at $3.1535 per pound on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
