Menthol up on rising demand

NEW DELHI: Menthol prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of rising demand from consuming industries amid paucity of stocks.

Firming trend in futures market also supported the uptrend.

Menthol bold crystal, menthol flake and mentha oil prices rose by Rs 5 each to Rs 1,285, Rs 1,185 and Rs 1,010 per kg, respectively.

Traders said rising demand from consuming industries against restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly pushed up menthol prices on the wholesale chemical market here.
