Mentha oil rises 1.88 pc on fresh buying

NEW DELHI: Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 25.40 to Rs 1,371.90 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand at spot market due to rising industrial demand.

Restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the Mentha oil prices at futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in the July delivery gained by Rs 25.40, or 1.88 per cent, to Rs 1,371.90 per kg with a trading volume of 248 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 24.40, or 1.83 per cent, to Rs 1,355.80 per kg, having a business turnover of 753 lots.

Marketmen said fresh buying by traders following pick-up in spot demand and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
