Mentha oil futures weaken 0.14% on muted demand

NEW DELHI: Mentha oil prices were down 0.14 per cent to Rs 872 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed positions owing to slack demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October declined Rs 1.20, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 872 per kg in a business turnover of 262 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in November contracts eased Rs 1.10, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 884.50 per kg in 116 lots.

Analysts attributed the slide in mentha oil futures to subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market against sufficient stocks on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
