NEW DELHI: Mentha oil traded marginally up by 0.13 per cent to Rs 844 per kg in futures trade after speculators created positions, driven by pick-up in spot demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June edged up by Rs 1.10, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 844 per kg in a business turnover of 16 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in May traded higher by 60 paise, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 834.20 per kg in 170 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators after pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against tight supplies from producing region mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
