Restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the mentha oil prices at futures trade.

NEW DELHI: Mentha oil prices rose by 1.02 per cent to Rs 9.30 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions supported by a pick-up in demand at spot markets.

Restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the mentha oil prices at futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June gained Rs 9.30, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 912.80 per kg, with a trading volume of 126 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in May rose by Rs 8.60, or 0.94 per cent, to Rs 914 per kg, with a business turnover of 338 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions created by speculators driven by rising spot demand amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
