Mentha oil futures gain 1.09% on industrial demand

Tight availability in the physical market on less arrivals from growing belts also supported the upsurge.

NEW DELHI: Mentha oil futures prices today gained 1.09 per cent to Rs 1,328.50 per kg as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in industrial and export demand.

Tight availability in the physical market on less arrivals from growing belts also supported the upsurge. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February rose by Rs 14.40, or 1.09 per cent, to Rs 1,328.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 500 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in January gained Rs 14.10, or 1.08 per cent, to Rs 1,314.30 per kg, with trading volume of 1,664 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by speculators following pick- up in industrial and export demand amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
