NEW DELHI: Mentha oil prices fell 1.64 per cent to Rs 1,500 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-booking at existing higher levels.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February fell by Rs 25.10, or 1.64 per cent to Rs 1,500 per kg with a business volume of 80 lots.

Similarly, mentha for delivery in March traded Rs 19.10, or 1.46 per cent lower at Rs 1,283 per kg, with a trading volume of 683 lots.

Traders said the fall in mentha prices at futures was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels amid a subdued domestic demand.
