Mentha oil futures down 0.91% on profit-booking

NEW DELHI: Mentha oil prices were down 0.91 per cent at Rs 974.30 per kg in futures trading today as speculators booked profits at existing levels amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July moved down Rs 8.90, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 974.30 per kg in a business turnover of 86 lots.

Also, the oil for delivery in June contracts traded lower by Rs 8.20, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 960 per kg in 717 lots.

Marketmen attributed the fall in mentha oil prices in futures trade to profit-booking by speculators at current levels, along with weak demand in the spot market.
