Mentha oil futures decline on profit-booking

NEW DELHI: Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 15.70 to Rs 862 per kg in futures trade on Thursday as speculators indulged in profit-booking amid subdued spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May fell by Rs 15.70, or 1.78 per cent, to Rs 862 per kg, with a business volume of 433 lots. Similarly, mentha oil for June delivery fell by Rs 15.20, or 1.70 per cent, to Rs 874.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 116 lots.

Marketmen said apart from profit-booking, subdued demand in the spot markets put pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
