Maize futures trade flat due to profit booking

Maize futures traded flat on the NCDEX counter today as investors booked profits on the recent rise.

NEW DELHI: Maize futures traded flat on the NCDEX counter today as investors booked profits on the recent rise.

At 1300 hrs, the most-active November contract as well as the December contract were trading flat at Rs 860 and Rs 837 per quintal respectively.

Prices in the spot market were in the range of Rs 860-880 per quintal at Nizamabad in Andhra Pradesh, the main trading centre for maize in the country.

Last week, maize prices for November delivery touched a high of Rs 888 per quintal and investors have been booking profits on the rise today, experts said.

Futures prices are expected to jump in coming days with increased demand from the starch and poultry industries, they said.
